Whatever will be, will be

Thank you all for your kind words over the course of this blog, and especially the last week.

To all us squeakers, we will find out tomorrow.

I'm confident I know which of the two emails BAA will be sending me. There will be more runs in the future.

Congratulations everyone.

  3. Thanks for the great analysis you've provided this year. I can say it's been the highlight of the long wait since my BQ in May. Best of luck to you and, please, I hope you'll reconsider and provide us with your remarkable insight in future years.

  5. Based on information provided yesterday from the BAA of at least 454 additional BQ entries accepted this year compared to 2015. and perhaps at least 810 more BQ's if 10 year streakers are not included, the cutoff time should drop a minimum of 15 seconds (streakers included) or 26 seconds (streakers excluded) from all previous calculations.

    1. Where did you get this information? I have not seen any of that. Do you mean "drop" as in less than predicted cutoff time? So 1:55? (She predicted 2:10)

    2. Last year Boston accepted 23,546 BQ's and streakers. Yesterday they announced 24,000 plus time qualifiers. If our hostess used 23,546 (2015 acceptances) for her calculations then yes a 2:10 prediction should be reduced to at least 1:55, but more likely down to 1:44 if streakers are not included in that number..

From yesterday's BAA facebook post: "The B.A.A. will accept more than 24,000 of the fastest qualified runners from those who submitted applications during this two week registration period."
